In the turbocharger rotor system of railway locomotive engine,the turbine disk working in the harsh and complex environment such as high temperature and pressure etc uses high temperature alloy(GH2132,GH4169),and the rotor shaft working in the better environment adopts42CrMo steel.After a lot of research,using the method of continuous drive friction welding to weld the two kinds of material in this study is the most suitable.So, how to make these two metallic materialsare that have greatly different components and properties firmly connected together through continuous drive friction welding is the key technology in the manufacturing process of rotor system.Under this background, the welding procedure of GH2132/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding and GH4169/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding is studied in this paper.After a lot of preparatory work,this study conducts GH2132/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding process test.And through the orthogonal test that has three factors,three levels and one index to optimize welding parameters,it is determined that the best welding parameters of GH2132/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding are the second stage of friction pressure:7MPa;the second stage of friction time:8s;the forging pressure:15MPa. Furthermore,the experimental equipments and instruments such as OLYMPUS-BX51M metallographic microscope,FM-700microhardness tester,JSM-6360LV scanning electron microscope and AGIC-100kN electronic universal material testing machine etc are used to analyse the microstructure and properties of welded joints.And for obtaining the performance close to the structure and size of the actual working parts,LOS hydraulic universal testing machine is used to take the tensile test of large diameter sample(40mm diameter).Similarly,GH4169/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding process test is carried out based on many preparatory work.And through the orthogonal test that has three factors,three levels and one index to optimize welding parameters,it is determined that the best welding parameters of GH4169/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding are the second stage of friction pressure:7MPa;the second stage of friction time:9s;the forging pressure:16MPa.In this study,the experimental equipments and instruments are basically the same as those used in the test of GH2132/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding.Finally,"hard process parameters "(short second stage of friction time and high forging pressure)should be used for high temperature alloy(GH2132,GH4169)/42CrMo continuous drive friction welding based on the summary and comparison of welding process parameters.
