With the development of network technology, communication technology, sensor network technology, computing technology and perceptive technology, the new generation of network environment, which is called ubiquitous network, has been broadly studied all over the world. People pay great efforts to build a network environment that exists everywhere, and try to apply it in various fields. Manufacturing is the foundation of national economy and the main sector of industry. Manufacturing-oriented ubiquitous network will surely be the important trend of the development of ubiquitous technology. The application of ubiquitous network in manufacturing industry is ubiquitous manufacturing network, which will bring profound influence to manufacturing industry and produce a new manufacturing paradigm.As the bottom manufacturing equipment, CNC Machine tools is responsible for a large number of manufacturing tasks. While CNC machine is more and more intelligent automatic and efficient, the monitor and maintenance of CNC machine tools becomes more and more complicated. The emergence of ubiquitous manufacturing network provides a new condition monitoring method for large complex processing equipments such as CNC machine tools. Using the ubiquitous manufacturing network, the operators can know well about the machining condition of CNC machine tools more comprehensively, timely and effectively. The effective use of ubiquitous manufacturing network will greatly shorten the machine maintenance time, prolong service life, and arrange the production task effectively.The main research work of this paper is as follows.(1) Based on a lot of technical literature including both abroad and domestic, this paper analyzed the content and meaning of ubiquitous network and ubiquitous manufacturing network, summarized the research status and the development trend of ubiquitous manufacturing network, and illustrated the research significance.(2) Using the existing network technology, this paper constructed the ubiquitous manufacturing network environment oriented on manufacturing workshop. A wireless information transmission network was built in workshop environment, which can solve the information blind puzzle of machining monitoring of CNC machine tools in manufacturing workshop.(3) The machining monitoring system of CNC machine tools was built based on the ubiquitous manufacturing system. The real-time machining information is obtained by the fixed sensors on machine tools and transmitted by ubiquitous manufacturing network. The experiment was carried out to verify the reliability of the developed monitoring system.(4) Based on the core idea of ubiquitous manufacturing network, The machining monitoring software was developed by LabVIEW. Using the LabVIEW, the program software was developed for collecting, storing, displaying and analyzing the status information of CNC machine tools.(5) The remote status monitoring of CNC machine tools was studied. Based on the DataSocket technology and Web publishing tool, remote condition display and monitoring of CNC machine tools was accomplished.The ubiquitous manufacturing-oriented machining monitoring system of CNC machine tools is built based on the core idea of ubiquitous network, which is called4A (Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime and Anything), and constructed according to the internal demand of ubiquitous manufacturing. This research aims at fusing the available network and communication technology, building a manufacturing-oriented ubiquitous network environment, by which the operators can master the status information of CNC machine tools anytime and anywhere so as to realize the ubiquitous monitoring and diagnosis of CNC machine tools.
