The reduction of heavy oil viscosity by microwave is a good development prospects.Microwave effects can effectively reduce the viscosity of heavy oil, but that is not stablecaused by multiple factors. As an important parameter of the microwave, frequency cansignificant influence on the effect. However, due to the limitation of equipment, makes themicrowave frequency in promoting research on effects of viscosity reduction of heavy oil wasstill in its infancy. The paper through experiment combined with theoretical method tosystematically study the microwave frequency for heavy oil viscosity reduction effect ruleand mechanism of the influence of it to improve the effect of microwave viscosity of heavyoil has the vital significance.First, the paper adopts27MHZ,235MHZ,470MHZ,915MHZ and2450MHZ5different frequency of microwave processing of heavy oil dehydration, measuring andcomparing the viscosity of the sample before and after processing, the effects of thefrequency effect of the viscosity of heavy oil. And Then using uniform design method basedon the different microwave parameters (frequency, power, time) under the treatment of heavyoil dehydration experiment, analyzes the effects of microwave parameters on the effect ofviscosity of heavy oil. Finally through the experiment of different frequency microwaveprocessing water cut of heavy oil, analyzed the influence on the effect of microwavefrequency to the water cut of heavy oil viscosity.According to the existing temperature distribution model of heavy oil in microwave field, established the mathematical model of relationship between microwave frequency and colloidasphalt temperature, and theory solution, to determine the relationship between colloidasphalt temperature and microwave frequency. Finally according to the theory of microwaveand heavy oil and combined with experiment and model research, analyzes theoretically theroot that microwave frequency causes of the change of viscosity of heavy oil.The experiment and theoretical analysis results show that the microwave frequency hasobvious change on the viscosity of heavy oil, which increases with the increase of frequencyin the range of27MHz to2450MHz. This is because there is a frequency microwave points, that dues to the effect of microwave thermal effect and non-thermal effect, which makes thecolloid asphalt temperature reaches a maximum, triggering more colloid and asphaltenecracking reaction, so as to get the best effect of viscosity of heavy oil.
