The concentration of nitrogen in pure argon not only means the purity of argon gas,but also reflects the level of production technology. Meanwhile, it can help to control thequality of argon. A gas analyzer which could measure the concentration of nitrogen in theargon accurately plays an important role in gas industry and related fields.The project designed the high-performance plasma emission spectrum gas sensor andimplemented0~10ppm trace nitrogen’s detection reliably by studying the mechanism ofglow discharge plasma atomic emission spectrum. High stability, frequency and voltage acexcitation source, precision sample pool, small flow controlling, high sensitive ultravioletdetector, Weak signal extraction, spectral discrimination, high sealing gas path system andOverload screening are all the Key and difficult points in the project.The main innovation points are as follows:1.Steady flow design of sample gas: the measurement signal do not changer with thesample gas flow rate and pressure.2.High frequency and voltage ac excitation source has a good stability.3.No environmental pollution.The successes of this project solved the measuring of pure argon, furthermore, itprovided design experience for other gas measuring and helped to continue thedevelopment of the research of helium discharge chromatography column.
