Titanium tetrachloride, an important intermediate product in the production of titanium and its compound, is an important raw material in titanium industrial production. Nowadays, the preparing methods of titanium tetrachloride include boiling chlorination and molten salt chlorination. Boiling chlorination process to produce coarse titanium is a chlorination reaction that to put high titanium slag and petroleum coke react with chlorine in the fluidized state after mixing with a certain proportion. It will produce large amounts of residues of dust collection in the process of chlorination, and the residues deliquesced in the air forming smog, dissolved with water forming strong acidic solution, both are damaged to the environment.This article aims at residues of dust collection in the production process of titanium tetrachloride, choosing water washing neutralizing precipitation and solidification process for harmless treatment researching, achieving the purpose of this kind of industrial waste residues cause no pollution to the environment, and recycling industrial calcium chloride, producing curing blocks which can be used for building materials.This article contents three aspects:First, the determination of the reaction conditions of dissolving with water. Second, the neutralize treatment of lavage fluid from chlorination residues. Third, the solidify chlorination residues. Obtained results as follows:(1) Optimum process conditions of dissolving with water are:the ratio of solid to liquid is1:8, the reaction time is30minutes. In this condition, the chloride is all dissolved in water.(2) The research of the neutralize treatment of lavage fluid from chlorination residues. calcium oxide is better than calcium hydroxide in neutralize treatment of lavage fluid from chlorination residues under the same reaction conditions, and choose calcium oxide as the best neutralization reagent. The optimum addition amount of calcium oxide is9g, the optimum time is30minutes, the optimum stirring speed is200r/min, the optimum temperature is room temperature, the pH of from chlorination residues is10.03under this condition. Except for the calcium chloride, almost all chloride entirely in the form of hydrate remains in the residue. Filtrate can achieve the demand of industrial calcium chloride after evaporation and concentration.(3) The curing research of residues of dust collection. The optimum curing ratio with calcium oxide as neutralizing agent is cement:sand:residues:calcium oxide=400g:1050g:50g:13.5g, The optimum curing ratio with red mud as neutralizing agent is cement:sand: residues:red mud=400g:1050g:50g:70g. The mechanical strength of the solidified block both meet the requirement of as building materials under this two conditions. The chloride leaching rate of adding red mud is lower than that of solidified block adding calcium oxide.
