304stainless steel is the most widely used chromium-nickel stainless steel, which has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, good low temperature strength and mechanical properties, stamping, bending and other thermal processing, and no heat hardening (non-magnetic, using temperature-196℃~800℃). However, the mechanical properties of304stainless steel is not satisfactory, Wang Shenggang, Long Kang researchers through trial, and ultimately produce a nanocrystalline stainless steel (grain size of about150nm). In order to further understand this new nanocrystalline304stainless steel and a difference in the mechanical properties of bulk nanocrystalline304stainless steel (BN-SS304) and conventional polycrystalline304stainless steel (CP-SS304) for a normal tensile test (at different tensile rates), tested its yield strength, tensile strength and elongation, but also be a low cycle fatigue test (at different strain amplitude), tested its fatigue life.Come to the following conclusions:(1) At the same tensile rate, BN-SS304has a higer yield strength and tensile strength than CP-SS304, and has a lower elongation than CP-SS304.(2) With the increase of tensile rate at room temperature, yield strength increase, tensile strength of BN-SS304is almost unchanged, tensile strength of CP-SS304slightly decrease, the elongation both decrease.(3) At the same strain range in fatigue experiments, BN-SS304has a higher fatigue life than CP-SS304.(4) Both for BN-SS304and CP-SS304, with the increase of strain range, the fatigue life decrease.(5) BN-SS304have a wider elastic region than CP-SS304.
