Small punch test (SPT) can be used to obtain mechanical properties of materials by miniature size specimen. As the small punch specimen is very little and can be sampled from the serviced equipment, the small punch test provides a reliable basis for residual assessment and structure integrity. In this paper, the feasibility of sampling on in-service hydrogenation reactor was studied. The main contents and conclusions of the thesis are as follows;(1) The feasibility of electronic discharge method cutting sampling method on hydrogenation reactor was studied by laboratory sampling and sampling on hydrogenation reactor test pieces. Hydrogen concentration in the outer wall of hydrogenation reactor is zero after cooling down, this sampling method can be done on in-service equipment during maintenance, and will not affect the safe operation of equipment.(2) Ductile-brittle transition temperature was derived by small punch test of2.25Cr-1Mo from room temperature to-196℃. By analyzing the test results that taking less than20small punch specimen can be carried out on the material ductile-brittle transition temperature evaluation.(3) The position and dimension of sampling on the hydrogenation reactor was determined and the safety assessment after sampling was given.
