Bending machine is a kind of precision forming machine tool which folds thehorizontal and positioned workpiece into desired cross-sectional shape with the verticalreciprocating movement of the slider under the action of hydraulic pressure. Majorityof current domestic studies are on the conventional bending machine with traditionaldesign methods, and not fully considering the design key problems as structuraloptimization, synchronization precision and the coupling relationship of parametersbetween different subsystems. Along with the growing demand for workpiece in largesize and high precision, the defects of existing design methods gradually appeared.Based on this, a CNC bending machine is researched whose performances are analyzedand optimized. Paper work is done as follows:After the basic contact theory being introduced, the static analysis finite elementmodel of the bending machine is established based on the mechanical assembly model.Based on the static analysis results, stress constraints of the topology optimizationmodels of the body and slider are respectively set up. According to the force transferpath from the analysis results, the improved structure of the bending machine isproposed. The comparison between the results of the static and modal analysisaccomplished before and after the topology optimization indicates that theperformances of the bending machine are improved.After the mode of deflection compensation been chosen, hydraulic system model ofthe bending machine is established. According to the analysis of the simulation resultof the hydraulic system, the two hydraulic cylinders have a good synchronizationperformance.The multi-disciplinary design optimization is firstly introduced. After theestablishment process and data transfer mechanism of the bending machine’ssimulation model is analyzed based on the software, the multi-disciplinary designoptimization method and algorithm are primary selected. Based on the data filesintegration between different software being expounded, the multi-disciplinarycoupling optimization platform of the bending machine is established.Structural lightweight design and hydraulic synchronous simulation analysis of thebending machine are accomplished in this paper. A multi-disciplinary designoptimization method of the machine is proposed and its platform is established basedon Isight.
