Paper industry is one of the industries with large investment, high energy consumption, and serious pollution of the environment. The characteristics of the pollution are a large quantity of wastewater discharged, high chroma, high CODcr and many suspended solids of fibers in the wastewater. So, study on papermaking wastewater treatment has become a hotspot in recent years, various processing methods emerge in an endless stream. At present, the microbial treatment technology in the area of wastewater treatment has attracted the attention of researchers at home and abroad. The papermaking midcourse wastewater used in the experiment was from laboratory, using a paper mill black liquor from Liaoning Panjin to analog paper midcourse wastewater; Rumen microbes was from United Meat Processing Plant of Dalian Bangchui Island. The first part we studied the effects on rumen microbial treating of papermaking wastewater. This part of the experiment was carried out in batch experiments using shaker, In order to imitate the living environment of rumen microorganisms, the temperature was set to39℃, influent pH was adjusted to7.0,and chemical oxygen demand (CODcr) adjusted to4229mg/L. This experiment mainly studied the effect of different amount of rumen microbial inoculation treating on papermaking wastewater. Experiments were carried out in4reaction bottles, the volume ratios of rumen fluid and papermaking midcourse wastewater were as follows:1:1,1:2,1:3,1:4, we mainly studied the changing in CODcr and the production of VFA.Experiments were conducted to22days.The first batch was carried out for10days, after11days we added paper mill wastewater to all the reaction flasks to carry out the second batch, after17days we added paper mill wastewater to all the reaction flasks to carry out the third batch. On Batch experiments, four reaction bottle Puling midcourse wastewater CODcr gradually decreased, when the ratio of rumen fluid and middle-stage wastewater was1:4, the effect of the treatment was the best, the removal rate of CODcr could reach50%.On the basis of the batch experiments, The paper further on rumen bacteria in continuous treatment of Puling midcourse wastewater were studied. This experiment mainly studied the effects of hydraulic retention time on the removal rate of SCODcr and chroma, and the amount of generation of volatile fatty acids (VFA) in the wastewater. The results showed that, the best hydraulic retention time was96h in the anaerobic stage, the removal rate of CODcr was30%; the best hydraulic retention time was24h in the aerobic stage, the removal rate of CODcr was80%, the removal rate of chroma was35%; Activated sludge concentration reached a maximum after21days. When the transmembrane pressure was0.04MPa, we need to be clean the membrane.
