Organic-inorganic hybrid material is a kind of material with excellent properties of organic and inorganic materials, and has very broad prospects. The organic-inorganic hybrid materials with the introduction of inorganic component in organic matrix show more excellent comprehensive performance than traditional composites, and there is strong interaction between the two phases. POSS modified polymer composite material is a novel class of organic/inorganic hybrid material. The hybrid framework of POSS could combine the advantages of both inorganic and organic materials and exhibit unique properties. It has been an important way to prepare high performance materials with POSS.T7POSS was synthesized by the hydrolytic condensation of phenyltrimethoxysilane. CpPOSS and ApPOSS were synthesized via a corner-capping reaction between trichlorosilane and T7POSS. The products were fully characterized by FTIR,1H-NMR and MALDI-TOF MS.Double-decker-shaped silsesquioxane (DDSQ) with two reactive silicon-hydrogens was obtained from tetraSilanolPhenyl POSS reacted with methyldichlorosilane. DiapPOSS was synthesized by the silicon hydrogen addition reaction. In order to apply the double functional group POSS to traditional polybenzoxazine resin, we designed two synthetic routes for the preparation of a main-chain polybenzoxazine containing3,13-di(amine propyl)octaphenyl DDSQ (PBA-diapPOSS). The structure and curing behavior of the products were fully characterized by GPC,1H-NMR, MALDI-TOF MS, FTIR and DSC. Nano-dispersed POSS in the materials led to the excellent thermal performance.
