The fast development of cities caused traffic jams, population expansion,environmental pollution and other urban disease. Therefore, to alleviate traffic congestionand improve the environment pollution, the idea of green traffic emerges as the timesrequire. Green transportation should be a pluralistic urban traffic system, emphasis onpublic transport oriented, pedestrian and non motorized traffic as the basis, the new energyvehicles, to supplement the efficient operation of the system. Green transportation shouldpay attention to social fairness, meet the idea of people oriented, to achieve the maximumtransport efficiency with minimum social cost. The aim of this article is to review the greentransport theory, research on travel mode theory, construct the theory model of residenttravel mode choice intention,model of combination of theory of planned behavior intention,carry out empirical research which focus the green traffic idea on the intention of residentsof the green travel mode, through the questionnaire issued, the data are summarized andanalyzed by SPSS19.0, to verify the proposed assumption that in order to achieve the effectsof three main factors of X city residents green travel intention and master the individualdifferences in demographic variables on the situationAccording to the theoretical model constructed by the proposed four hypotheses:(1)The walkers’ attitude on green travel has significant influence on the green travel intention.(2) The effect of subjective norm of green travel on its green travel intention significantly.(3) Perceived behavioral control of green travel has a significant effect on the green travelintention.(4) Effects of different individual characteristics of green travel intention have thedifference. Through the study of individual characteristics to the residents of X city,thefactors of impact of green travel intention of travel attitude factors, subjective norm andperceived behavioral control factors, obtained the following conclusions:(1) Effects ofdifferent individual characteristics of green travel intention has the difference.(2) Residentsof X city’travel intention and travel attitude factors, subjective norm and perceivedbehavioral control factors are positive correlation; and the three factor is strongly related to each other.(3) The most important influence factors in three residents of green travel is theattitude factor, followed by the subjective norm and perceived behavioral control factors.Through regression analysis, obtained in the three factors influencing green travel intentionthe travel attitude factors is the most important, followed by the subjective norm andperceived behavioral control factors.In this paper, based on the research results and conclusions, this paper argues that inorder to improve the level of the residents of green travel, two aspects--urban traffic andurban planning--can be considered:(1) Strengthen the green transportation publicparticipation, actively promote green traffic awareness (2) Improve green travelenvironment, enhance the attractiveness of green travel methods (3) The government playeda leading function, improve the traffic demand management (4) To strengthen theconstruction of intelligent traffic, improve traffic scientific management level (5)Optimizing the city space form, developing the job housing balance town group.
