The main purpose of this study is to develop the cold stamping die material ofautomotive stamping through adding two kinds of alloying elements of Cu, Mo and heattreatment.Compared with the effects of different proportion on nodular cast iron microstructure, the influence of Cu, Mo with different contents on nodular cast iron was analyzed. Theresults show that with the increase of Cu content, the roundness of graphite nodule and thecontent of pearlite in the matrix are improved. The Mo element can improve the distributionof pearlite and reduce the volume fraction of ferrite. The experiment results show thatappropriate addition of Cu and Mo elements improve the mechanical properties of nodularcast iron. The hardness and tensile strength are improved after normalizing treatment. Whenthe contents of alloying element Cu and Mo are1.0wt.%and0.5wt.%respectively, nodularcast iron has the best comprehensive mechanical properties. The properties of nodular castiron with1.0wt.%Cu+0.25wt.%Mo are less excellent. As a result, the best performance of alloy ratio is at1.0wt.%Cu+0.5wt.%Mo, thehardness of the nodular cast iron is280HB, the tensile strength is1150MPa, the impactenergy is4.65J and the line friction coefficient is0.151. Considering both the economicbenefit and the mechanical properties, the nodular cast iron with1.0wt.%Cu+0.25wt.%Mo isthe most appropriate, the hardness is272HB, the tensile strength is1050MPa, the impactenergy is6.20J and the linear friction coefficient is0.215.
