In this paper, based on the water quality monitoring data of the5main rivers(the Kui River, New Sui River, New Bian River, Tuo River and Hui River) in Suzhou city from2004to2010, analyzed the water quality change trends and spatial distribution features of water pollutant concentration in the river, and evaluate the water pollution situation, in order to provide scientific reference for regional water environmental pollution control and comprehensive management.This study through analyzed the spatial distribution features of water pollutant concentration of the main river in Suzhou City, obtained that:the researh of five rivers in Suzhou City, Kui River Water body relative to other four rivers is poor, while the new Bian River and the Hui River’s water quality is better. Kui River which belongs to the exogenous type pollution of rivers, Tuo River, Hui river for endogenous type pollution of rivers, organic pollutants in the New Sui River from the this study basin, but the N-containing pollutants come from upstream, New Bian River which is just the opposite.This study through analyzed the water quality change trends of the main river in Suzhou City, obtained that:in addition to the DO and TP concentration increased, the concentration of the other seven pollutants showed a downward trend; For the different rivers, in addition to the organic pollution of the New Bian river’s changes inconspicuously, the other four rivers have decreased; For the different river section, in addition to the nutrient salts contamination of Yangzhuang section of the Kui River have increased, the Sixian Bali bridge section of New Sui River, Liuzha section of New Bian River, Luling bridge section of Tuo River and Dongpinji section of Hui River were decreased, other sections did not change significantly. The overall water quality of the river surface environment is gradually improving in Suzhou City.This study adopts the single factor index method and Nemero index method to evaluate water quality of each monitoring section of the main rivers in Suzhou city from2004to2010. The evaluation restults show that: the water pollution status of each monitoring sections of major rivers in Suzhou city from2004to2010is serious. Yangzhuang section and Shibeicun bridge section of Kui River, Fuli section and Yinji section of the New Sui River’s water quality is worse, the water quality all attains standards of Grades worse than V from2004to2010, while the Yangzhuang section of Kui River’s water quality is the worst, mostly belong to the serious pollution; Sixian Bian bridge section of New Bian River and Dongpinji section of Hui River’s water quality is better, the water quality mostly attains standards of Grades IV from2004to2010, while the Dongpinji section of Hui River’s water quality is the best, mostly belong to the clean water; The water quality fluctuation of the other monitoring sections is small, but all have a tendency to improve.
