Land ecological security is one of the hot spots in the government and academiccircles at present, and mines is a typical ecological fragile area, so it has vitalsignificance to carry out land ecological security research now. Based on theunderground iron mine as the research object, this article developed researches on theissues of land ecological security evaluation in underground iron mine, the researchresults are shown as below:1) From underground iron mine production and technological processes, Wesummarized the characteristics of ecological environment problems of underground ironmines, and found that the dominant force for land ecological security of undergroundiron mine primarily came from production activities.. In addition, it is argued that theresource, environment and social economic condition of mines play a foundational,restrictive and controlling role throughout the whole process. Therefore, we establisheda causal model for the ecological security of underground iron mines by taking itsproduction process as a thread.2) Based on the above theoretical study, we established a system of indexes forland ecological security assessment drawing upon the PSR (Pressure-State-Response)model among the indexes, At the same time, we put forward a set of matterelement assessment method in which the land ecological security of underground ironmines was classified into absolutely safe, safe, less safe and unsafe. Moreover, theclassification standard of quantitative indexes and the classification basis, descriptionlanguage and grade criterion of qualitative indexes were set up.3) We designed the matter-element evaluation method for land ecological securityof underground iron mine. Using land ecological security of underground iron mine toevaluate the matter-element, we built the corresponding classical domain matrix andjoint domain matrix, and also formulated the criterion for rating criteria anddevelopment trend in land ecological security of underground iron mine.4) Taking Chengchao Iron Mine as an example for empirical test, the assessmentresults shows that the established assessment system and method for underground ironmines can objectively present the actual ecological security and core problems of themineral area.
