Lilou-Wuji iron mine is the oversize and largest underground iron mine in our country with 7.5 Mt/a mining capacity and unprecedented complexity. Aiming to solving the key technical problems encountered in the process of the mine construction and resource development, the iron ore demand forecast, optimization program of the mine construction, analysis of the construction technology and the stability of large-scale incline stope and the optimization of the mine ventilation system are made. The paper put forward a continuous mine construction model of two-stage of pre-production and production, operation plan of multi-shaft and multi-surface, and the technique of excavation and support in thick layer through the quaternary system. The results show that it is an effective method to solve the problem of ventilation of special-large scale underground iron mine using multi-level station ventilation technology and placing all the stations underground.
