Die as "the mother of industry," the life issue has long been widespread concern in theindustry. Improve the mold cavity surface corrosion, wear heat, acid and alkali, and oxidationresistance, with a lower mold thermal stress is the key to solving the mold life. We found thatby trying to find the optimal cavity surface reinforcing material, to mitigate damage to thecavity surface. Test preparation techniques used for plasma spray.This paper proposes significance of the subject, and summarizes the various failuremodes of the mold; then introduces the principles described herein relate to weldingtechnology, research status and development.The second part introduces two parts, including the development of the experimentalmaterial selection and experimental programs. W6Mo5Cr4V2high-speed steel and C45steelselected for substrate; selection of Ni60alloy powder pink and stellite6powder; workinglayer powder selection SiC, Cr3C2and WC. Ni60alloy powder and three ceramic powder areto7:3,8:2,9:1ratio to prepare nine powder, spray on the substrate in W6. Selection stellite6and stellite6+SiC (stellite6: SiC=7:3) as the C45steel powder spray materials.The third section describes the spray experiments using LU-F500-F600type plasmaspray welding, specimens were polished before spray degreasing process. After the spraythrough line cutting, mosaic, coarse grinding, grinding, corrosion, metallurgical finally gettested specimens.The fourth part of the comparative analysis of six aspects of the test. Firstly, threedifferent powders macroscopic morphology, sectional microstructure, micro-hardness, thermalexpansion coefficient, more heat capacity and thermal conductivity ratio, concluded that30%WC,10%Cr3C2and30%WC powder was cladding help alleviate the thermal stress of themold. Next is a30%SiC,10%Cr3C2,30%WC coating were analyzed. Hardness, surface hardness of the WC coating is about900HV, which hardness of the matrix is very similar, didnot achieve enhanced matrix purpose; and SiC and Cr3C2powder spray layer hardness havereached1000HV or more, which was significantly higher than the substrate hardness,strengthening the matrix to achieve the purpose. From the point of view of thermal properties,30%of the SiC coating prepared mold can best meet the job requirements.The fifth chapter C45steel plasma spray experiments were analyzed, mainly from themacroscopic morphology, microstructure microstructure, micro hardness and thermalexpansion coefficient were compared. The results show that a single stellite6powder can notachieve the purpose of strengthening the material surface, adding SiC can effectively improvethe surface properties of materials.To sum up: Ni60+SiC ratio of7:3in W6powder spray steel surface effect is the best.In the C45steel stellite6+30%SiC can significantly enhance the performance of the surfacecoating.
