The thesis gives SERS catalytic and SERS sensing application of nanoplasmonic superstructure based on gold nanorods. Recently, fabricating nanoplasmonic superstructure has attracted extensive interests in that optical hotspots existing inside of the superstructure contribute to causing near-field coupling, which dramatically enhances Raman signals of SERS probes and lead to promising application in SERS sensing. On the basis of highly yielded gold nanorods with high purity, we construct the trimetallic Au@SiO2@AgPt nanosuperstructure, and develop several novel superstructures with different SERS enhancing ability and nanocatalytic ability via selective deposition and etching protocol. Finally, we choose the trimetallic superstructures integrating excellent SERS enhancement and catalysis to give in-situ monitor of calaytic reaction, which contributes to understanding mechanism of catalytic reaction. On the other hand, we fabricate the large-scaled tridimensional supercrystal of Au@Ag core shell nanorods and apply them for SERS sensing of pathogen E-Coli bacteria. As compared to traditional assay technology, the present SERS recognition is quite sensitive and reliable.
