Carbon materials’s discovering such as fullerenes, carbon nanotubesmade people’s eyes turned to the new carbon material. Preparation of theperformance, functional, and wide application of new carbon materialshas become a research hotspot.Carbon microspheres have many excellentproperties, such as the chemical inertness, the sintering performance andhigh packing density, excellent conductive thermal conductivity, chemicalstability, thermal stability, etc. Thus,it is a new kind of great developmentpotential and application prospect of carbon materials. It can be used tolithium secondary battery cathode materials, high performance liquidchromatographic column packing, density, high strength carbon materials,catalyst carrier, and high specific surface area activated carbon and so on.And one dimensional core-shell Ag/C structure nanocomposites is a kindof inner layer of silver, and the outer for carbon materials. Because it cannot only reveal the nature of the carbon but also reveal the nature of thesilver, it has corrosion resistance, magnetic properties and thermal stability and excellent performance.As a result, it can be applied toelectromagnetic shielding materials, anti-static materials, super capacitor,drug relievers and so on. It can also be used as high-density integratedcomponent between the connecting cables, mini tools and micro robotparts.The preparation of two kinds carbon material used hydrothermalmethod. The hydrothermal method compared with other synthetic methodhas many excellent properties. For exanple, the operation is simple; itneeds low cost, low synthesis temperature and conditions; it is easy tocontrol, and we will got single product, so it is an ideal way ofpreparation of carbon materials. Hydrothermal method of carbonmaterials can be prepared by the use of raw materials. It is very rich. Wecan use renewable resources such as glucose, sucrose and cellulose, etc.Cellulose is very rich in nature. A large number of it exists in all kinds ofbiomass. It is composed of glucose very high degree of polymerization ofpolymer. Cellulose has the characteristics of cheap easy, high purity. If wecan make full use of it, we will have considerable economic developmentvalue and research value.This topic selected microcrystalline cellulose as raw material. It is akind of biomass materials. We got two kinds of different morphology ofcarbon materials—carbon microspheres and one dimensional core-shellAg/C structure nanocomposites by hydrothermal method. We inspected influencing factors of using hydrothermal method, microcrystallinecellulose as raw material preparation process conditions. We analyzed thecarbon materials one dimensional core-shell Ag/C structurenanocompositesc’s morphology, structure, and valence and antibacterialperformance. And their formation mechanism are discussed in this paper.Get the following conclusion:(1) with microcrystalline cellulose as carbon source, carbonmicrospheres was prepared by hydrothermal method. Known from theanalysis of the experiment,when adding hydrochloric acid to adjust pHvalue is4,the best morphology conditon is reaction temperature is300℃,the reaction time of12h to get carbon microspheres. Carbonmicrospheres particle size in5~7microns.The size is uniform anddispersivity is also good; The form of carbon microspheres is amorphouscarbon. Carbon microspheres itself does not have antimicrobial properties.(2) with microcrystalline cellulose as carbon source, silver nitrate asthe source, using step hydrothermal prepared one dimensional core-shellAg/C structure nanocomposites. It’s microscopic morphology is line,silver as the core and carbon as the shell, a diameter of400~500nm;Products mainly consists of silver, two kinds of carbon element, and thesurface contains rich in functional groups such as hydroxyl, carboxyl,carbonyl; In the process of reaction, hydrochloric acid not only has acatalytic effect, also have the function of the shape control agent. One dimensional core-shell Ag/C structure nanocomposites has someantibacterial properties.
