The thesis has introduced briefly the development status and prospects of antioxidants and hindered phenolic antioxidants,and has described systematically the synthesis method of hindered phenolic antioxidants.The hindered phenolic antioxidants is a very valuable hindered phenolic antioxidants,with lowertoxicity,less environmental pollution,better thermal stability, and it is widely used in natural rubber,synthetic rubber,latex, and many other synthetic materials,petroleum products.The Synthesis process about polymeric hindered phenol antioxidant was stated in this paper. It was synthesized by dicyclopentadiene, p-cresol, methyl tert-butyl ether. The effects of the amount and species of catalyst, molar ratio of the reactants, reaction temperature, reaction time on the yield and melting point was discussed.And new method for product purification was proposed.The results have shown that the main factors affecting intermediate dicyclopentadiene cresol resin synthesis is of substance ratio of reactants and catalyst addition. Optimal synthesis conditions are: under the protection of nitrogen, dicyclopentadiene choose to be dropped in the form of reaction, the amount of catalyst for the reaction of the total mass of 1.5 % solution of dicyclopentadiene at the reaction temperature, the reaction temperature is 100 ℃, after the addition was complete the reaction time was 4 h, p-cresol and dicyclopentadiene material ratio of 3: 2. In optimal conditions for the reaction of the benchmark, the average intermediate softening point resin is 86 ℃, the yield was 89 %.The alkylation reaction stage optimal conditions for generation of the desired product, under nitrogen protection, tert-butyl methyl ether was added dropwise manner be taken to the reaction, a solution temperature of 55 ℃, the catalyst selected as methane sulfonic acid The amount of catalyst is 1.5% of the total reaction composition, reaction time after completion of the dropwise addition of methyl tert-butyl ether for 4 h, methyl tert-butyl ether and intermediate material mass ratio of 3: 2.In addition,the hindered phenolic antioxidants was evaluated in PP(T30S) by contrast to antioxidant 1010 and antioxidants 1076 under the same experimental conditions. The results showed that the hindered phenolic antioxidants in the test had done better than other antioxidants.
