As the clothing tends to more variety,smaller batch,shorter life cycle,the sales forecasting of clothing become more difficult.Sales data were extracted from the valuable information.Because of the establishment of clothing product life cycle model,it was possible that the clothing sales forecasting become more accurate.Focusing on the characteristics of clothing product life cycle,clothing life cycle was considered as the researched object in this paper.Based on the summary of previous research about this, a depth and comprehensive study of clothing product life cycle model was discussed in this paper.This paper analysed one part of the sales data from the four large-scale garment enterprises and extracted useful information from the sales data.A related clothing product life cycle model was established and also done an empirical study.First of all,on the basis of the previous studies,the paper expounded systematically the basic meaning type,background and overview of clothing sales forecasting and the related theoretical research of the clothing product life cycle curve.The details of the approach principle for product life cycle were given in this paper.Secondly,the analysis of the improved BASS model and its principles which is used to describe clothing product life cycle.The papers in-depth discussed the classic clothing product life cycle model as well as its limitations.Then,through the analysis of four major clothing company sales data,the region,the color and the size of clothing as factors on apparel product life-cycle models were empirically analyzed .Finally,making the sales of men's suits as an example, the principles and the proliferation of new products apparel to market which the improved BASS model described compare to the sales process showed that the BASS model is suitable for describing the life cycle curve of apparel products.By Men's T-shirt,Women T-shirts and girls pants for further empirical studying the paper choose the right curve model to establish product life cycle model.Papers take classical Gompertz curve model,Logistic curve model and improved BASS model for non-linear regression,using Matlab and other mathematical tools to derive the model parameters,by nonlinear regression analysis and comparison of various models of the residuals,choose the most suitable clothing life cycle model.Papers with clothing sales data based on the life-cycle theory and related apparel categories which established for the appropriate life-cycle model. On the basis of this.We can make a more accurate forecast for sales of clothing to reduce the company's inventories and corporate resources waste,also can improve enterprise's production management level to make enterprise have a place in increasingly competitive market economy.
