The Research On The Optimization Of Minimum Wage Policy In China

The minimum wage is used by the government to manipulate the labor relations as an essential tool. Many scholars discussed the necessity of the minimum wage when it was enacted. China has been implementing the minimum wage since 1993. During its practice period, it really made contributions to the security of low income families and groups of disadvantage as well as the maintenance of the social justice and fairness. We also noticed the problems in this period, which need the government to optimize the existing minimum wage policies.This paper does some analysis on the problems which occurring in the process of establishing and implementing. Through theoretical and model analysis, optimizing suggestions will be proposed, which can guarantee the income of the low skilled workers without disturbing the employment and can be brought into full play.The main content of this paper can be divided into four parts. First, we do research on the development and practice of the minimum wage policy in China and abroad. According to the comparison between them, we can draw some experience to optimize our policy. Second, we make evaluation to the targets of the minimum wage in theoretical and model analysis respectively. Third, according to the targets mentioned before; we build up a model to optimize the minimum wage policy. At last, we will propose several feasible suggestions towards the establishing and implementing process.There are three main methods of analysis in this paper, which are theoretical, model and statistics.There are two innovations in this paper. First, we do systematic research on optimizing of the minimum wage policy and analyze the theory. Second, on the basis of comparison and targets analysis, we figure out the problems and make proper solutions.
