Both the academics and practice are focusing on the interorganizational interacation during innovation process. Especially, after Henry Chesbrough concluded the concept of open innovation, many scholars enter this field, to discuss it from every perspective, while most of companies are implementing open innovation actively.According to the classification by Chesbrough, open innovation has two faces: inbound and outbond. Most researches focus on the former one, while little attention has been paid to the latter. This paper finds the value of outbound openness to innovation performance, from the network embeddedness perspective. Our research has three main parts:theoretical background, empirical analysis, result discussion and future implication. In the theoretical background, the paper not only concludes all the researches on open innovation during recent years, but also reviews many related classic theories, to ensure itself have a firm foundation.During empirical analysis, I implement both quatitative and quanlitative methods. After investigating several famous companies, the research shows the value and concrete practice of outbound openness, through the case of Supcon. By the large scale data from Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong and Shanxi, we make use of SEM to find out the effect mechanism of outbound to performance, from the network embeddedness perspective. In the laste section, I conclude and discuss the empirical results, and figure out that future research might explore the novel world of outbound open innovatin, from different content factors.
