The Empirical Analysis Of Foreign Antidumping Investigation Against China

Since 1979, EU initiated to China's saccharin implementation of the first antidumping investigations, China has gradually become the world's anti-dumping investigation of the main objectives of the country. According to WTO report, China has suffered maximum antidumping investigations for 15 years. So frequent antidumping investigations make China into the abyss of international trade friction, which has seriously affected the development of China's trade with foreign countries and causes the export suffering huge loss. Especially, since financial crisis, international trade protectionism is popular again. More and more countries are in the guise of antidumping to protect their domestic industries. China has in store for more severe test. Therefore, it has great theoretical value and practical significance to reflect on how to treat rationally and deal correctly with antidumping against China from other countries.This article analysis the antidumping systematically from theory to practice, qualitative and quantitative. The paper firstly gives an elaboration on the relevant economic theory of antidumping; secondly carries on the theoretical analysis using the game theory and analyses the considered factors when both exporter and importer act; furthermore, on the basis of present situation of antidumping investigations underwent all over the world, analyses the mainly influential factors of undergoing antidumping investigations by Chinese time-series data count model and nine countries'panel data count model respectively. The empirical analysis indicated that the most influential factors is foreign trade dependence. With the China's trade dependence higher, the number of suffered anti-dumping investigation is to be more. Secondly, the non-market economy status, imperfect antidumping law, lack of coping with lawsuits and so on are also affected the frequency of suffering antidumping investigations in different extent. But there are negative correlation between government subsidies, export tax rebates and suffering antidumping investigations. In particular, the trade degree of asymmetry is not the factor. Thereby, this article views that the rapid development of China's economy should change the "export-oriented" model which dependent on trade long-term, adhere to the "inside and outside minored in" principle; simultaneously optimizing the export structure, and improving the domestic antidumping coping mechanism and so on are also can evade antidumping investigations efficiently.
