As an economic organization-style, industry cluster are showinga strongcompetitive power in the process of economic globalization. The competitive advantage of industrial cluster in enhancing regional economic competitiveness becomes increasingly important.This phenomenon has widely attracted many nations or regions' attention. According to life cycle theory of industrial cluster, it can be formed and may continue to grow to maturity, or may gradually decline and die. How to promote its continue growing after formation and maintain its vigor has become one of the important issues which must be addressed. Based on this, the paper takes the financial industry cluster's continue growth as research themes, and through the way of analyzing the facts of its continue growth in order to discover its inner low.Article is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, through the classify literatures of cluster from home and abroad, it designed the paper's research framework, defined its background and significance, while, also the research methods and technical routes. Chapter two is the research of industrial clustertheory.Firstly, the paper classify the concept of industrial cluster, and defined its intension and extensionconcept through the view of systematic perspective; Then the identification theory of industrial cluster are summarized; finally, studied the relationship between industry cluster and regional economic development, definite that the industry cluster is an important way to build regional economics'core competitiveness,meanwhile, further definite the importance of studyingthe industrial cluster. This chapter foreshadowsthe study and theory in balance chapters. Based on the study of Michael. Porter'sdiamond model of industrial cluster, the third chapter extends the financial industry cluster and builds the DIHEPO factor model for its sustainable growth through a comparative analysis of the development status of the major international financial centers in the globe. This chapter constructs a theoretical frame for the subsequent case study. Chapter four is a case study of the construction of Shanghai financial center. The DIHEPO model hypothesis receives some support through the study of the factors of Shanghai financial industry's sustainable growth. It illustrates the favorable and unfavorable factors in the course of the construction of Shanghai international financial center in nowadays and provides the case support for the proposal of the construction of Shanghai international financial center in chapter five. Chapter five combines the conclusions of the theoretical study and case study and brings forward the proposals of promoting the sustainable growth of Shanghai financial industry cluster and building the international financial center. Chapter six is the conclusion of the paper and prospect of the author. It reaches the research conclusions of the paper and explains the limitations of this study. It also points out the issues and direction for further research.
