Study On Operation Strategy Of Industrial And Commercial Bank Of China (ICBC), Qingdao Branch, County Branch

County economy is the basic economic unit of the national economy. Sustaining, rapid and heathy development of county economy is the basis of national economy's sound operation, and is also the effective way to solve the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. In Nov. 2001, Report of the 16th Congress for the first time put forward"To develop agricultural products processing industry and boost county economy", which is also the first time"county"and"county economy"were written into the Party's literature. Since then,"County economy"was formally incorporated into the scope of national economic construction and restructuring. The central government defined county economy by terminating"clear exploration"in 2006 and this indicated that China will enter the era of county economy's great development. It can be ecpected that a period in the later future will a be rare historical opportunity for development of county economy. Rapid development of county economy puts forward higher requirements with finance and also offers good opportunity for development of finance especially commercial bank.Qingdao municipal branch of ICBC is under the direct management of ICBC headquarter and all business indicators rank in the leading places after stocks are listed and management is transformed. However, development of county branches has always been an obstacle bothering Qingdao branch's leapfrog development. County branch of ICBC Qingdao branch has develped slower than county economy for recent years, which raised striking contrast with great development of Qingdao municipal county economy.This thesis analyzes development characteristics of Qingdao municipal county economy, demand with financial services of county economy, and also competition status of Qingdao municipal county financial services. Based on the analysis, the thesis proposes that county economy is a booming emerging financial market with tremendous business opportunities. New development model of county economy provides realistic basis for ICBC to develop county businesses. This paper will conduct comprehensive and comparative analysis with ICBC Qingdao county branches and similar business and other branch banks, through which to show current operation status of ICBC Qingdao county branches and to find out problems and deficiencies of self development, and then put forward principles, directions and specific measures for county branches to adjust operation strategies. All this is to finally mine and release the growth potential of ICBC Qingdao municipal branches.
