For the study of cash flow, research methods and the system at home and abroad, is relatively mature. The concept, role and importance in enterprise valuation of cash flow have been described in detail. However, the indicators of the cash flow from assets, the cash flow to creditors and the cash flow to shareholders those are used in port and shipping enterprises have not yet comprehensive, systematic exposition, especially not having an analysis of listed companies where cash flow are serious sleepy incoming after financial crisis. Therefore, the thesis analyzes cash flow from the perspective of port and shipping industry, that becomes more innovative and more times, and provides a more valuable reference for future research of the cash flow.The port and shipping enterprises are the basic industry of national economic development, and the industry is invisible, capital-intensive, and lack of liquidity funds. A comprehensive analysis of operating results and financial condition on the companies has been the focus of business managers and investors. This paper summarizes the general theory and research methods of cash flow, and establishes index system of cash flow based on the balance sheet and income statement. Meanwhile, collect the financial statements data of 29 listed companies from 2008 to 2010 as a sample, analyze cash flow changes during three years, and come to situation and characteristics of cash flow changes of enterprises in China in 2010, so as to provide enlightening information for reference for port and shipping enterprises in enhancing cash flow management.Through comparative analysis, ratio analysis and empirical analysis, the passage has a detailed analysis of the changes on cash flows for the past 3 years of listed companies, and proposes that the cash flow are shortage and poor growth of port and shipping enterprises over the past three years, and cash flow of port industry is more sufficient or the annual creating capacity is stronger than the shipping industry. Besides, cash flow position has the large differences between peer companies in the industry, promptly individual companies is growing substantially, while most of the companies is declining sharply.
