The studies of decision making have been a major thrust for many disciplinary fields such as management, economics, psychology and social science for a long time. Simon, a Nobel laureate in economics, has proposed that "management is decision making". Hence, it can be confirmed the importance of decision to the management. A number of studies in past have shown that decision making was a complete process, containing several different stages, such as decision evaluation, decision choices, and feedback. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies had shown that different brain regions were activated during different periods of decision making, however, in ERP studies of decision making, researches mainly focused on the feedback stage. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is try to discuss the characteristic of different decision variable from the perspective of decision stages, and further to explore the neural mechanisms underlying individual economic decision making behaviors. In this study, the process of decision making under uncertainty are research object. By means of events related potential (ERPS), we design a monetary gambling experiment to study the neural basis of decision making under uncertainty. Taking the advantage of high resolution of the time of the ERP technique, we mainly focus on the early and feedback stages of decision. The results shows that process of decision making under uncertain can be divided into three periods, including decision information processing, decision attitude and outcome evaluation, which can be index by the different component of ERPs. According to the characteristic of ERP component, and combining with the previous researches and the analysis results, the neural mechanism of decision making under uncertain during different decision stages has been discussed. The conclusions are as follows.1) In the period of decision evaluation, decision making under risk and ambiguity have different information processing mechanism, which is related with the component of P2. Besides, the attitudes towards risk and ambiguity are also different and that difference can be indexed by the component of P3.2) In the period of feedback, the evaluation of decision making results are influenced by the valence and magnitude of the outcome, which can be indexed by the ERP component FRN and P3.3) The formation of the mechanism of cognition between different decision periods is sepreated.
