As the great success of Apple's App Store, terminal manufacturers, operating system providers, telecom operators and other internet companies start their own online application store. There is a new flourishing situation in China's online application store market. On the other hand, as the traditional mobile phone industry has entered a bottleneck period, terminal manufacturers have entered mobile internet market for new profit growth point. In these contexts, the primary strategy for traditional terminal manufacturers is to seize the tremendous opportunities application store provided, and to achieve a successful transformation towards the mobile Internet.Firstly, this paper conducted systematic study of two-sided market theory, and then analyzed two-sided market characteristics of application platforms and mobile internet industry. Secondly, this paper discussed how the application platforms contributed to the traditional terminal manufacturers, and proposed that traditional manufacturers should be application platform operator in the mobile internet era. Finally, the application platform collaboration strategies (including vertical alliance, interoperability, distribution of benefits, etc.) and pricing strategies for the traditional terminal manufacturers were deeply researched based on two-sided Market and game theory.
