Reflexivity, a fundamental term in social sciences, not only occupies an important position in "Post-modernism" theory, but displays a tendency towards economics, finances, and management. Reflexivity refers to boih positive and negative judgment and appraisal deduced from realistic situations and adherence to the positive side while seeking solution to changing the negative side.America, Japan and Germany have dominated the world economic arena for several decades. They occupy 139,36 and 71 enterprises respectively of the 500 Top Enterprises List 2010 made by Fortune. Hence these three countries boast the world's most recognized managerial modes. Studies show that reflexivity plays an important role in their management, greatly promoting the development of their national enterprises. This paper, based on the powerful implement in social sciences----reflexivity, will probe into the managerial modes applied in America, Japan and Germany in an attempt to supplement the theoretical researches on Chinese enterprises.This paper will firstly discuss the definition of reflexivity in social sciences and then introduce its derivation in management----reflex accumulation. Next, it analyzes the characteristics, merits and demerits of reflexive management practiced in developed countries like America, Germany and Japan. The experience thus induced from their managerial modes will hopefully be conducive to a new-China in transformation.Since the 1980s, numerous American managerial theories have been introduced to China. Nevertheless, tremendous cultural distinctions between the United States and China resulted in fierce clashes and conflicts, mitigating the effect those theories could have exerted on our indigenous enterprises. Hence what count most is to reflect our national condition and pursue a road which best suits us.Innovation of this paper:1 The most innovative point of this paper is the application of reflexivity, a term in social sciences, to management and the discussion of its utilization in three developed countries. This paper also proposes the idea of "reflexive accumulation" to evidence that reflexivity is indispensable in any nation's management. 2 This paper takes a cross-discipline perspective and introduces reflexivity to business management.3 By analyzing reflexivity management practiced in three developed countries, this paper undertakes a detail study of comprehensive subjects hence its conclusion is of pragmatic significance.
