The Game Between Transnational Corporations And State Sovereignty In The Context Of Globalization

October 24, 1992, the UN Secretary-General Boutros-Ghali gave a speech about "United Nations Day", solemnly announced: "The first era of globalization has come true." Globalization is the basic characteristics of the times in today's world and is deepening the interdependence of the world actors, and multinational corporations are the main carriers of globalization and its manifestations. Multinational corporations are the product of socialized production and market economic development In the context of accelerated globalization, the multinational corporations rise rapidly, the characteristics of multinational corporations--- multinational, the global strategic and management of concentration--- had conflicts with national sovereignty. On the one hand, transnational business activities of transnational corporations requires breaking the shackles of national sovereignty in order to facilitate the freedom of worldwide investment, production and sales; the other hand, multinational companies because of its large size, solid strength, has become an important non-state actors in international society, and its authority in the international community's position is also a tremendous threat to national sovereignty. The erosion of Transnational Corporations to national sovereignty is an no avoiding fact. However, in the context of globalization, which aspects of national sovereignty is challenged by transnational corporations and how does it happened?Firstly, the author gives a brief introduction of the basic concepts to globalization, interdependence, transnational corporations and game theory; then the author analyzes the reason of the political behavior of multinational corporations ; after that the author analyzes the challenges of transnational corporations on national sovereignty combining with "Google Events" from the four areas - economic sovereignty, political sovereignty, cultural sovereignty, information sovereignty , and analyzes the limited sovereignty transferring of sovereign state in the context of globalization . In the next chapter, the author introduces Game theory to analyze the Relationship between multinational corporations and national sovereignty in the context of globalization, and based on the elements of Game theory to analyze the game between Google Inc and China's national sovereignty, only the cooperative game can achieve the best interests for both sides. Finally, the author believes that the relations between the host country and multinational companies should be smoothed, to guide the multinational corporations play an active role, and the host country should have rational explanation to national sovereignty in the context of globalization and information age, safeguarding national interests.In my opinion, this paper has important practical significance to study the challenges of transnational corporations on national sovereignty in a seriously and comprehensive way of using Game theory and combining the example "Google case". On the one hand, the host country needs to face the challenges of multinational corporations to national sovereignty in the context of globalization, understanding that the multinational corporations both have a negative effect and positive effect and the behind motivation of the political behavior of multinational corporations, and it will give an advantage to the host country in the game between the host country and transnational corporations, to safeguard national sovereignty and national interests; on the other hand, the host country should have a more rational vision to look at the evolution of the concept of national sovereignty and establish a new concept of sovereignty in the information era of globalization, which upholds the "relative rather than absolute sovereignty, open rather than closed sovereignty, ahead Non retreated sovereignty, and practical rather than oral sovereignty.
