Research On Logistics Cost Optimization Of Small And Medium-Scale Supermarket Chains

China has many small and medium-sized enterprises, which have undergone considerable development and made great contribution to the rapid development of the national economy since the reform and opening-up policy started in China. As a new form of retailing business, after more than 10-year's development in China, the Chinese supermarket chains has become a new force of Chinese commercial industry. However, these supermarkets are not large in scale, and cannot stand in a stronger side, neither. There are a lot of problems in management, such as the management teams do not have overall understanding of the logistics, cannot find the source problems and cannot think out the optimization of logistics cost. Instead, they pay more attention to the scale of stores and the profit having been made, neglecting the importance of the logistics cost in the process. Facing the openness to the outside world in retail business, domestic small and medium-scale supermarket chains will be at large stake if they cannot make progress in expansion scale and speed. Therefore, research on logistics cost which is a core competitiveness of supermarket chains make great sense.Firstly, the thesis gives a study summarization on logistics cost control home and abroad, and then analyses the theories of logistics cost control in supermarket chains, which lay a theoretical foundation. Secondly, the thesis set a model on logistics cost optimization and optimization evaluation by analyzing the logistics cost in supermarket chains. Thirdly, the thesis chooses the Gui Lin 99 supermarket chains as an example, analyses current situation of its logistics cost control, finds the problems, and then gives the suggestion qualitatively and quantitatively, which lay a stable foundation for the survival and sustainable development of small and medium-scale supermarket chains in fierce competition.
