With further development of Chinese reform and opening-up and entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), Chinese construction contracting is gradually entering into the international construction contracting market. The opportunities of domestic contractors to participate in the bidding of international projects are gradually increased. Therefore, bidding and pricing has become an important means for the contracting enterprises to show the competitive strength of companies and gain the contract. Bidding and pricing is related to the survival and development of the contractors in the future. The aim of the thesis is to study how to improve the accuracy and rationality of bidding and pricing, thus enhance the international contracting market share and improve the ratio of a successful bid.This thesis analyzes the current situation of project contracting at home and abroad, and then summarizes the bidding and pricing theories of international projects. In connection with the characteristics of construction contracting market in Africa, this study expounds the working procedures of bidding and pricing for international projects, and puts forward the cost composition and calculation method. The factors which affect the bidding and pricing of international projects in Africa are analyzed and the strategies and skills of bidding and pricing are discussed. Finally, combining with the engineering cases in Angola, the thesis analyzes the construction contracting market in Africa, and discusses the skills and strategies of bidding and pricing used in this project. In process of analysis, this thesis combines the theory with the practice, and analyzes the characteristics of African construction market and the skills and strategies of bidding and pricing. It is expected that Chinese contractors will make a more reasonable bidding and pricing with the advice give.
