Research On Standardized In Spare Parts Management Of BOC-TISCO Gases Company Limited

Since China has become a member to WTO, with the progression ofscience, information technology and Web 2.0, enterprises nowadays faceunprecedented opportunity and challenges. They have to compete with theirpeers from worldwide. The only solution for continuous, stable and efficientdevelopment is to make progress in enterprise management efficiency.Equipment management is an important part of enterprise management. It's adetermining factor of a company's survival and development. As an importantpart of equipment management, standardized spare parts management'sadoption to enterprise management's high level requirement is becoming animportant topic of concern.This article studies extensively on the application of the standardizedspare parts management in BTG. It optimized the spare parts managementprocess in BTG; established and applied the KPI assessment system for spareparts acquisition management; realized the standardization of spare partspurchase using SAP; especially it followed the six sigma standard withDMAIC process in defining, measuring, analyzing and improving to shortenthe acquisition period and completed the 6 sigma black belt project, achievinga good economic return and fine standardization outcome. It analyzed theinventory using ABC principle; reduced the store capital through spare partslocalization; implemented 5S management using standardized managementtools in the storage area of BTG. It also studied the standardized managementin approving, evaluating and appointing spare parts suppliers. BTG madeprofits through management efficiency, lowered spare parts costs, reducedspare parts inventory capital, guaranteed spare parts for equipmentmanufacture and maintenance.This paper offers a reasonable base in standardized spare partsmanagement. The analyzing method and research outcomes of the paper canbe valuable and helpful for BTG and other enterprises.
