LCD industry is a capital-intensive industry. It has to invest 10~20 billion Yuan in a six-generation line. It's not so hard to see that it takes big investment risk and competitive pressure. Although labor cost of LCM accounts for a large proportion, LCM plays an important role. It not only manufactures glass panels, but integrates various components to the modules and processes them into finished products. Then I have to say that the control of LCM manufacturing cost is an important link in the whole chain.This paper focuses on improvement of manufacturing value of large-size LCD modules. It is mainly analyzed from four aspects. The first is inspection optimization, it involves in analyzing the function and loss cost of inspection process; the second is utilization rate. By analyzing function and cost structure of materials and maintaining its function, we take certain measures to improve utilization rate, e.g. multiple recycling; the third is design improvement. It describes how to improve price performance ratio of product from the product design point of view. The final one is cost reduction. By comparing functions of different materials and per-unit cost, we increase value from two aspects: changing specifications and reducing per-unit cost.In this paper, it involves material, hours and cost in LCM. And on the basis of Vale Engineering, it establishes a model which is suitable to the current condition. Meanwhile, by constantly applying mentality and technology of VA/VE in these two years, we have saved tens of millions manufacturing cost and accumulated lot of experience, which is bound to lay a solid foundation for further development.
