Studies about emotional intelligence sprang up in 1990s'due to traditional intelligence'deficiency. Emotional intelligence was brought up first by P.Salovey and J.Mayer in 1990. In 1996, Emotional intelligence was introduced to China and paid attention to extensively.There are mainly three typical research approaches: cognitive ability by Mayer and Salovey ,which was empathized in the study , job performance by Goleman and mental health or personality by Bar-On.The study tested the leaders'emotional intelligence in the companies by the WEIS developed by Chi-Sum Wong and Kenneths.Law of Hongkong and leadership efficiency by the Inventory of Leadership Efficiency by Zhang Lihua , analysed the datum by means of correlate , multivariate regression and path analysis and drawed conclusions:Firstly,leaders'emotional intelligence has no significant difference in gender. But it has significant difference in age and job tenure. In general, the older and longer job tenure ,the higher the emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence has significant difference in accepted education degrees and position. Relatively, Sub-general managers and middle and basic leaders have significant difference in emotional intelligence.Secondly,there is a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence of leaders and leadership effectiveness.Thirdly,emotional intelligence of leaders can forecast leadership effectiveness significantly.The dimension of use of emotion facilitate performance(UOE)in emotional intelligence can forecast group target reached and job satisfaction.Its forecasting force is 13.5% and 15.5% respectively. Apprasial and recognition of emotion in others(OEA)and regulation of emotion in the self(ROE) can forecast cohesive forces, the ally explanation variability is 21.5%.OEA and UOE can explain 21.1% of leadership ability. Between them, OEA has the better forecast force, the solitude explanation was 15.4%.
