With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, knowledge and technology have become the most important elements in enterprise resources; and creating knowledge, using knowledge and value-added knowledge will eventually have to rely on the inner motivation of knowledge staff to achieve. The intrinsic motivation of knowledge staff becomes an important part of core competitiveness of enterprises. Therefore, the research of encouraging knowledge staff also quickly becomes the focus in domestic and foreign academia community. IT (Information Technology) industry as a typical knowledge-intensive, technology-intensive industry is one of the important hallmark industries in era of knowledge economy; researching the incentive needs of IT enterprise knowledge staff can have strategic significance in stimulating knowledge staff'motivation, increasing their core competitiveness, achieving sustained business and professionals virtuous circle.This article combines the theoretical research with application study, studying the demand features and encouragement tactics of knowledge staff on the basic encouraging theory. This article is divided into six parts, the first chapter introduces research background, meaning and methods; Chapter II introduces incentive and the need for relevant theory; Chapter III introduces the features of IT knowledge staff and related studies; Chapter IV mainly introduces the IT staff'needs of a knowledge-based enterprises empirical research; Chapter V proposes the motivating principles and approaches of knowledge staff in Chongqing IT enterprises. Chapter six is the conclusions and recommendations of this study. The part IV and part V is the focus of this research.Domestic and international research shows that the study of knowledge staff is common, but the encouraging study according to demand are few; in the empirical research, the encouraging study for industry-specific knowledge staff is few. After reading a lot of literature on the knowledge staff motivation, this research uses the famous Thomas Han management to survey the 172 knowledge workers in 8 Chongqing enterprises; then compares the survey results with the existing research results in domestic and foreign academia community.
