ISO14000 environment management series standards are a set of management standards issued by the International Standardization Organization (ISO) to unify and coordinate the environment management standards in the world, reduce the non tariff barrier in the global trade and normalize the environment behaviors of various organizations. ISO14000 series standards highlight the thoughts of "Total Management, Pollution Prevention, Sustaining Improvement" and reflect the most recent management thoughts and the development tendency of environmental protection. ISO14000 series standards have been widely concerned in the world since they were formulated. ISO14001 standard is the first one of the ISO14000 series standards and also the only one that can be used for certification and which the other standards are the supplement, interpretation and application to. Since ISO14001 standard was officially issued on September 1, 1996 till April, 2005, 88,800 organizations in the world have been granted with the ISO14001 environment management system certification certificates. Working hard for three years, Yibin Nuclear Fuel Element Plant (YFP) was officially certificated and registered by the third party certification body and was granted with the environment management system certification certificate in March, 2003.
