Research On Quality Management Of Internal Auditing In China's Commercial Banks

Recent years witnessed frequent law cases in China's banking industry, which not only showed many weaknesses in internal control and supervision of Commercial Bank of China, but also gave hints at a problematic internal auditing of the bank. As a result, it has become an urgent concern for Commercial Bank of China to give full play to internal auditing while strengthening administration on it to improve the bank's operations.Internal auditing of China's banking industry has been developed through twenty years, from little to much, ignorance to gradual recognition, dependent to independent, and substandard to standard. Its development, however, is uneven, nor is its quality. Compared with external auditing such as national auditing and CPA auditing, internal auditing of Commercial Bank in general is of low quality, and needs urgently to be improved. This paper, therefore, focuses on internal auditing of Commercial Bank of China.The paper consists of an introduction and four chapters. The introduction tells motivations, theoretical bases, train of thought, general content, major features and limitations of the paper. Chapter One deals with significance and limiting factors of quality control over internal auditing of Commercial Bank. Chapter Two summarizes defects in quality control of internal auditing of Commercial Bank. Chapter Three illustrates quality problems of internal auditing with actual cases. And the last chapter proposes some methods to improve quality control over internal auditing in Commercial Bank of China based on the author's work experience in internal auditing and investigation of Commercial Bank of China.
