Multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) methodology has been one of the top issues the researchers discussed, which has been successfully applied in many real-life problems in engineering, finances, market analysis, management and others. Decision rules are attracted more attention during the decision-making, and simplicity and illustration should be satisfied. However, under uncertain situation, we usually have to make a decision among many available alternatives and simplify relevant aspects. That's why decision-making methodologies are endlessly emerged.Among MADM methodologies, Rough set theory has played a significantly important role. The concept of rough set, announced by Polish mathematician Pawlak since 80s in 20th century, has been attracting researchers'attention, which embodies the virtues of needing no prior information besides the set itself in dealing with the problems. With the advanced development and constant extended research fields, multiple attribute decision-making methodology connected with rough set theory to solve practical problems has been an important one. In recent years, some rough set models are applied to deal with the MADM problems, which provides the satisfied decision rules to the decision maker and make the functions in real-life practice.Among these rough set models, non-parameter variable precision rough set model (NVPRS), appeared to the improvement of variable precision rough set model (VPRS) but really not, has been presented only for several years. This model, avoiding the choice of parameter, usually difficultly determined or not necessary used, could form the separated theory framework.A few methods based on NVPRS are studied in this paper, and the major work lies in the following parts:1. The information about MADM and rough set model has been introduced simply, including the recent situations from home to abroad, research purposes and the general content.2. The basic rough set theory is introduced in brief. The method of how to get the decision rules through the rough set and recent popular arithmetic methods are mentioned. Finally, a real-life example is given to explain the basic notions and get the decision rules to illustration the problem.
