In order to solve a problem of purchasing, managing, handling huge non-performing assets of four big state-owned commercial banks, the Chinese government, in 1999,sets up the four property management companies, the XinDa, the HuaRong, the Great Wall and the East, and definitely stipulates the four's 10 years' survival. According to the current speed and progress to handle non-performing assets , it hope to complete the treatment of creditor assets by the end of 2006.Hence the future of the four great property management companies becomes the focus that the everyone pays attention to. To dismisses by themselves according to the original programming after finishing handling huge non-performing assets , or to develop investment bank business and then to turn to invest corpus for the real market relied on the experience accumulated in the process of handling non-performing assets and the talented person's advantage?Replied 《the problems about reformation and development of the financial property management companies》 of the Ministry of Finance early in 2004,the Sate Council definitely indicated: After completing a mission to handle and recover non-performing assets granted for policy considerations, the financial property management companies can develop toward commercial direction. It gives a direction for the Chinese financial property management companies being placed in a sail doubtless. In my article, firstly I carry on a discussion and analysis of the last 6 years operation of the Chinese financial property management companies and their opportunities and challenge faced ahead. Based on the summary of rich experience obtaining in the process of handling non-performing assets , then I analyze necessities and possibilities of our financial property management companies to transform.
