Research In Public Scientific And Technical Literacy Based On The Harmonious Society

Science and technology have become the most active factor of productive forces, Which emerge in every corner of economic development, social progress and the humanity lives .In the new century, our Party made a proposal of constructing a harmonious society, because it cannot go on without science and technology and high level of national quality. As the core content of national quality, public scientific and technology literacy has decided the perfection and consummation of human's cultural system and may affect to the whole national development. As harmonious society's constructing is under the background of knowledge economy which deeply depends on science and technology, it is very important to enhance public scientific and technical literacy. Public scientific and technology literacy is the important foundation, internal request and urgent need of the harmonious society. By the real diagnosis investigating and studying ,this topic try to explore the current existence question of public scientific and technical literacy in our country .After the investigation, we discovered some existing problems. First, difference between male and feminine on public scientific and technical literacy. Second, citizen science and technology culture accomplishment drops along with the age structure more and more obviously. Third, there is a big gap of public scientific and technical literacy between city and countryside citizen .Fourth, lacking of scientific spirit and so on .All these are not symbol with the harmonious society. To solve these problems, and exactly improve public scientific and technical literacy, this paper presents some countermeasures, mainly focused on the government's support measures, popularization of science and citizen participation. Among them, material support of the government's policy to protect and promote public scientific and technical literacy is a prerequisite offer, stronger efforts to popularize science and technology and culture is an effective way to raise public scientific and technical literacy, universal participation of civil society will create an atmosphere of advancing public scientific and technical literacy.
