Research On Operation Risk Management For Hunan Branch Of Construction Bank Of China

Banking is an industry of high risk. Risk avoidance, management and solvency are the eternal topics in this industry. Risk management, which becomes the lifeline and the core competition of the commercial bank, can make sure the financial institutions go on exuberant and persistent, as well as reduce the cost for avoiding risk and make them more competitive. Operation risk is one of the main risks of the commercial banks, so efficient operation risk management is the only way to enhance risk management level and improve operation condition. So, it is necessary and urgent to study on enhancing the operation risk management capacity of the commercial banks.This paper adopts the Hunan Branch of Constructional Bank of China as a study object. Through analyzing the existing problems and causes of those problems in the operation risk management, and taking the advanced risk management theory and succeeded experience for reference, this paper develops the risk management tactic for the Hunan Branch of Constructional Bank of China.Firstly, this paper briefly summarizes the researches on operation risk management in commercial banks both in china and abroad, and realizes that it's necessary for the Hunan Branch of Constructional Bank of China to emphasize on operation risk management. Secondly, the basis of operation risk management is analyzed for the sake of further research, including the definition, classification, character and causes of the operation risk. Thirdly, this paper mainly analyzes its problems and reasons through investing the development and conditions of risk management in the Hunan Branch of Constructional Bank of China. Fourthly, in order to deal with the problems, this paper expounds the international experience of operation risk management, which includes the general experience and the operation risk management framework of the New Basel Capital Accord. Lastly, by citing some basic theories of the New Basel Capital Accord , learning from some financial bachelors and banking professors, and integrating with the actuality of the researched bank, this paper develops the operation risk management system together with the specific measurements for the Hunan Branch of Constructional Bank of China.
