| During 1997 Asian Financial Crisis period,Korean and Indonesian finance system encountered the serious destruction.A lot of Non-Performing Assets(NPAs) were produced.It was difficult for the macroscopic economy to develop rapiddly because of so many NPAs.Both of Korea and Indonesia took a series of measures to handle NPAs,avoid producing new NPAs and make the finance system perfect.The methods includes establishing Asset Management Company, restructing bank and company, reforming financial system and supervision and so on. In this paper,the author will detailedly analyse the following contents:how the two countries handled the NPAs, what metheds they used,how about their performance.At last,the author generally appraises the results they achieved,including the change of NPAs,the improvement of macroscopical economy and finance system.At the same time,the author tried to provide some feasible suggestions for China to handle its own NPAs.The outline of the paper is as follows.Chapter 1 retrospects the financial reform processes of Korea and Indonesia and introduces the character and the framework of the two countries'financial system at the end of 1996.Chapter 2 elaborates the reasons that the NPAs produced in the two countries from several sides.Chapter 3 elaborates detailedly the disposition of the NPAs in the two countries. Including how to fix the price on the NPAs and what methods were used by AMCs to handle the NPAs.Chapter 4 detailedly appraises the results which the two countries achieved from the improvement of the macroscopic economical,the change of the amount and proportion of the NPAs,the healthness of the NPAs.Chapter 5 analyses chiefly the reason that the NPAs were produced in China ,the performance of AMCs of China and the problems existing in Chinese NPAs market.Though summarizing the experiences and lessons, the author brings forward some opinions in order to help China to take feasible measures to dispose its NPAs based on its own actual situation. |
