After nearly 20 years of rapid development, China's automobile industry has been integrated into the world's automobile industry, China's automobile market has become the most important and the most potential part of the global automobile market. At present, China's automobile industry is not only in a phase of rapid development, but also facing with the period fully in line with the international after joining the WTO. China's auto industry competitive status, what impact will some principal factors do to the international competition of the automobile industry, and how to influence the international competitiveness of the automobile industry, how to enhance the international competitiveness of China's automobile industry, all of these is of great strategic significance to study the competitiveness of China's automobile industry. Not the same with most of the domestic study on the competitive position of the automobile industry, this paper focuses on analyzing the impact which the main internal factors do on China's automobile industry competitiveness, and, on this basis, give some strategy and methods to enhance the competitiveness of China's automobile industry.This article has used the method which the qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis unifies, first, the author has analyzed China's automobile industry competitive situation analysis based on the theory of competitiveness, through data comparative, it is found that the domestic automotive industry in product market share, export competitiveness and new technology in production still lags behind developed countries. Next, the author focuses on analyzing the impact which the main internal factors do on China's automobile industry competitiveness , Using the data from 1990-2004, through the creation of multiple regression model to test the impact the economies of scale, the degree of industrial concentration, labor productivity and technological level do to the international competitiveness of China's automobile industry. It is found that the enhancement of the automobile enterprise scale, the industry concentration and the technical level, may enhance the competitiveness of the automobile industry, but labor productivity has no obvious function to the automobile industry competitiveness. And on this basis, using the Granger causality test method to test whether the former is the latter Granger causes, it is found that the other three factors are significantly positively related with the international competitiveness of...
