A Research On The Influence Of The FDI On The Export Competitiveness Of Chinese Electronics And Information Industry

Since the 1990'S,China has absorbed a large amount of FDI(Foreign Direct Investment) so that he obtains the whole word to focus attention and has already ranked the front continuously for many years. Especially in 2003,China leaped to the world first place because of the absorbed quantity of FDI. As the first—key industry, the electronics information industry is leading the tide of FDI. Up to end of 2004, our country has absorbed USD5621.05,while the absorption of electronics information industry more than USD1000. FDI becomes an important strength in our country's electronic information industry. At the same time, the foreign trade of the electronic information industry has also extremely been promoting rapidly as well as his export competitive ability. Has the FDI been promoting the export competition ability of the electronics information industry? If possible, what on earth its influence degree? It is a pity that the research on this aspect is still a blank. So this thesis tries to analyze these problems, which bases on the relevant theories.At first, this article analyzed the current situation of the FDI absorption of the electronics information industry, as well as the electronic information industry trade development situation., and then utilized the international general indexes to measure its export competition ability. In this process, the author described FDI and the electronic information industry export competitive ability change path by the graph form, and finally discovered both changing tendencies had a high uniformity. According to the above results, we draw a conclusion initially: FDI affects the export competition ability of electronics information industry greatly.Based the above analysis, the author continued to make more thorough theoretical analysis on the influence mechanism, and think the promotion influence achieved mainly through four channels:such as capital supplement, technology spillover, structure optimization and trade expansion and so on, namely FDI not only made up the shortage of the needed funds, but also arouse the technique progress, and even optimized the industrial structure ,finally it enormously increased the electronic information industry foreign trade, then promoted the export competition ability of the Industry.Having finished the above things, this thesis made an experience analysis with the data over the years, which began with two angles: one is to use the classical methods, the other is to adopt the expanded CD production function under technical angle of view. Both of the results prove the FDI has a notable promoting influence to the electronic information industry.Finally, this thesis analyzed some key problems during the attracting FDI in our country's electronic information industry, and put forward the counter-suggestions in order to make use of FDI more available.
