This paper mainly introduces the current status of development and application of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry and its 50-year development history. As a rising industry, especially with the continuously increasing prices on petroleum and its products in recent years, LNG's attraction to investors'zest is also soaring. Specialists in petroleum fields have conducted extensive exploration and research in field of the LNG application. Their research findings help the rapid development for the LNG application in the world. LNG industry has become the first option for the present energy circles.In its Tenth-Five Year Development Plan the Chinese government vividly depicted the extensive use of LNG in energy field. It clearly regulates that metropolis must use the clean and environment-friendly LNG in the Beijing Olympic Games 2008. Some local governments of major cities like Guangzhou, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenzhen and Changsha, etc. vigorously supports the use of LNG as energy. And cities with intensive awareness of environment protection have also paid great attentions on the LNG application in every field.Under this preferable backdrop, and following the advantages of the national Grand West Exploitation and the Conversion Strategy of"Resource Advantage to Economic Advantage"carried out by Xinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region, Guanghui Group invested in June 2003 to start the LNG project. This has came into being the present Guanghui LNG Industry after two-year endeavor and established preliminarily the Guanghui LNG Industry Chain and the Guanghui LNG Market with its own characteristics. Whilst the successive promotion of its research and development in application field by Guanghui Group for LNG has brought along the development of its relevant inner industries as well as those related to petrochemical industry nationwide. The development on its application products related to Guanghui LNG has had a far-reaching influence to China's energy economy.At present, there are only three enterprises in business of production and operation of LNG in China.
