According to the Stat. Department of People's Bank of China, there are already over 20 kinds of credit cards issued by different banks in China. Of the total 20 million credit cards issued, more than 12 million are owned by individuals, about 1% of China's total population. With the rapid development of credit card market, the competition among banks has intensified. There are so many credit cards that it's bewildering for the customers. Meanwhile, all domestic banks are trying to issue more credit cards before the foreign-funded banks enter Chinese market comprehensively, in order to compete for the huge domestic resource of credit cards, also the last fertile soil in the banking industry. However, selling credit card is different from selling other products. When normal products are sold, the deal has been closed; but when the credit card is issued, the deal has just begun. The bank can make profits only if the customers use the card. How to find the potential clients of credit cards? How to let credit card holders consume with the card?
