Up to now, the study on the rural finance in our country mostly took the way of single financial institution analysis, rather than the general industrial analysis on rural finance that is regarded as an industry. Thus, the integral study on the rural finance organization from the sight of industrial system, have both the theoretical and practical significance to establish the multi-layered rural finance organizational framework and speed up the rural finance reform.Based on the S-C-P analysis model of conventional industries organization, and employed the recent frequently applied measurement indices of market structure and market performance, this paper studies the market structure and performance and their mutual relationship abstractively and concretely, comparatively and inductively, positively and normatively, as well as qualitively and quantificationally. The paper, firstly, studies market structure from the aspects of rural finance organizational constitution, the type of market structure and entrance and exit barrier to financial market in our country. Secondly, suggests to build up the market performance evaluation system and discuss single institutional business performance and rural finance integrated performance respectively. Thirdly, analysis their through the establishment of econometrical model of rural finance market structure and market performance. And finally, puts forward the concrete proposal to establish a rural finance market with order, competition and high efficiency based on the practical National Condition during the transitional period of our country.On the basis of relatively successful study of individual rural finance institution from currently available documentation, the paper attempts to employ the creative research method, tentatively works out the numerical value of rural finance market degree of concentration and finance deepening in our country, which has the reference value towards the types of market structure and degree of market performance. However, the paper only studies the formal financial institutions as its object, which results in the imperfection of analysis.
