Research On Income Gaps Between Men & Women From The Perspective Of Harmonious Society

The 4th Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee emphasizes that the so-called harmonious society forming all people to work according to ability, to take their proper place the society which but also is harmonious and together. When elaborating socialism harmonious society's basic characteristic, Hu Jintao said that the harmonious society of socialism we constructing, is supposed to be a society with the democratic legal system, the fair justice, the good faith friendly affection, the fill vigor, the stability order, the harmonious human and nature. The harmonious society of socialism has enrich connotation , in which the important aspect is society divergent interest main body each its can, take their proper place, together harmoniously, the communal development is harmoniously, and its core value idea is fair and just.Social equity is the nature demands of the socialism, important dimension of judging social progress, one core value of the socialism, and also the deep basis of structuring harmonious society of socialism. Social equity means equal rights, rational distribution, equal opportunity and judicial justice of members of society. Since the adoption of reform and opening policies , with increasing of the residents' income , their life has been improved ,but differences on income especially which of men and women show an upward trend with severely visible consequence . That has affection on current social stratum relation and social stability, and also the difficult problem of affecting on social development of China. Shorten differences on income between men and women and structuring gender harmonious are one of the main issues of defending and realizing social equity completely, and studying on gender income and social equity with structuring harmonious society of socialism in the new period is the important question to be settled.This thesis analyses the question on current situation of income gaps between men and women from the perspective of harmonious society of socialism to put forward the corresponding measure. It analyzes present situation, looks into the causes and proposes the countermeasure orderly. Besides the preface and the conclusion, the thesis is composed by four parts. The first part, analyses of current situation of gender income gaps. This part mainly analyzes current situation of gender income gaps between cities and countryside and between mid-west and eastern area. The second part, analyses of the cause of differences on gender income gaps. From subjective and objective angle of view, this part mainly analyzes to inquire into on education, employment, social policy and rights' ensures, etc. The third part, constructing the harmonious society requests to shorten the income disparity between men and women. This part analyzes the relations between constructing the harmonious society and reducing the income disparity between men and women, and also puts forward the corresponding countermeasure. The fourth part , practical significance of shortening the income disparity between men and women which is analyzed from advantageous to manifests basic national policy of the equality of the sex, to realization of social justice and the social economy development.
