After several decades of rapid development, China's manufacturing industry has become the largest industry of the Nation and made China the base of manufacture of the globe. However, most Chinese manufacturers are engaged in simple processing and assembling activities, which can bring about little added value or profit. In order to complete the strategic transformation form made in China to created in China, Chinese manufacturers are urged to enhance its product innovation competence. This dissertation regards product innovation as a systematic project going through the company's whole business activities and integrating all other functional departments. The author discomposes the product innovation strategy to three parts: strategic orientation, strategic alternatives and strategic complication, trying to integrate all aspects of the product innovation. What's more, in some specific aspects, the author makes some development to the existed theories according to the characters of Chinese manufactures.
